HAMPTON BISHOP VILLAGERS ASSOCIATION (HBVA)
The Villagers' association was registered with the charity commission in 1987, and its governing document identifies all Hampton Bishop residents over 18 years old as "members". We are completely autonomous to the Parish Council but work closely with them to ensure the the Village Hall remains an invaluable resource for all villagers to enjoy - young and old.
Val Watson - Chairperson
Jo Evans - Treasurer
Kate La Barre - Secretary
The AGM (Postponed from March) was held on 8th Oct 2020. We welcomed both new and familiar faces and we were delighted to elect a new Chair, Val Watson to take over the reigns. Like many village halls, HBVA faces unprecedented times but with a new team of volunteers comes fresh ideas and a real appetite to ensure our village hall continues to be an invaluable asset and resource for all villagers to enjoy.
The Hall opened in the Summer, after putting COVID precautions in place. Bookings are slowly returning and our hirers are adapting to COVID measures really well. The recent installation of WIFI at the village has allowed a number of our regulars the chance to use the hall and connect via Zoom to their attendees. We are also thinking creatively about how we can adapt opportunities and activities for villagers - for example, our now regular Pop-up Pizza and Cider nights, and the proposed Farmer's Market. If you would like to help us develop some ideas please email us at [email protected] We would love to hear from you!
